Something to smile

Last Wednesday I walked through Prague where I live and passing by a window of a costume rental shop this caught my eye. I must admit that first I thought it was a costume, until I noticed the breathing This four-legged friend turned out to be the perfect photo model, waiting patiently until I had taken the picture!

What makes Karlin so special? In 2002 there was a major flood in Prague, the river Vltava (Moldau for the German speakers and music freaks) rose due to heavy rain and basically covered the whole inner city area. It was a major catastrophe, leaving many parts of the city under water for days. Karlin was one of the worst affected areas. Many people lost their livelihood due to lack of insurance cover. But now, 7 years later, this area has beautifully recovered and is the ‘place to go’ for a quiet meal or a bit of bar-hopping. Good and bad reasons to visit Prague

Prague is a wonderful travel destination, really, it is, but some people might be happier here than others. And to be frank and honest, we are also happier with some people coming to visit Prague than with others

For example we, the people that live here in Prague, are very happy with visitors that appreciate the cultural and historic heritage of the “Golden City” that was 2000, one of the “European Cities/Capitals of Culture”. Prague is home to symphony orchestras, galleries, museums, architectural gems and more art than one can hope to cover and explore in two lifetimes! The Czech capital was the birthplace of writers like Franz Kafka and the historic center of Prague has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites.
